The Challenge
The Medicus Expert and Medicus Care teams were using a local Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 installation. The system included important features, but it no longer provided the flexibility needed to further develop services for patients, customers, devices, and maintenance.
The project required preserving proven features, addressing new user needs, and improving data quality and consistency during the migration to the cloud.
A system with no room for growth
Dynamics CRM 2011 no longer met all of the organization's needs.
Data to be organized
The migration included information about patients, facilities, products, devices, and services.
Many processes
Sales, orders, patient care, and repairs all required a single environment.

Our Role
Why is that?
The goal of the project was not to migrate the old system to the cloud on a one-to-one basis. First, we analyzed the features in use, new user needs, and processes that required optimization.
We designed a solution based on the Microsoft Power Platform and divided it into two main areas: sales, and patient and service support. We also migrated the data, improving its quality and consistency. In practice, the implementation included:
- databases of patients, caregivers, facilities, products, and devices
- handling quotes, orders, complaints, and repairs
- Offer and Order Configurator
- Import manufacturers' price lists from Excel files
- integrations with the online store, Google Maps, and Outlook

Course of Events
Analysis
We reviewed the features of the previous system and gathered new user requirements.
Proposed Solution
We have prepared a pre-implementation analysis, functional scope, timeline, and cost estimate.
Iterative Implementation
For about nine months, we developed new features according to schedule.
Testing and Migration
We demonstrated the features to the client, handed them over for testing, and transferred the organized data.
Launch
After the acceptance tests were completed, the system went live in early 2022.
Stack and Scope
The scope of the project included a pre-implementation analysis, process optimization, the development of a cloud-based CRM system on the Microsoft Power Platform, and the migration and organization of data from the on-premises Dynamics CRM 2011. The system integrates sales with patient care and service management. It includes databases of patients, facilities, and medical devices, as well as management of quotes, orders, and complaints, price list import, and a quote configurator. The solution is integrated with an online store, Google Maps, Power Automate , and Outlook, and Excel and Word templates allow users to create their own reports.
